A Neat Picture - 9 Point Analysis

So I figured this would make for a nice little post. I’ll analyze this picture…

1. The coolest thing about this picture is obviously the invisible towel. Contrary to what you may think, we didn’t have Jeff wave the towel back and forth just to make the picture have that effect. It was just a cool byproduct.

2. This is a picture of my sophomore year apartment, which I must admit was very nice. We lucked out and received the 8th overall pick in the housing draft. Our group selected Homewood Apartment 427. My roommates made the mistake of playing poker to see who would get which room. Needless to say, I got the best room.

3. Consequently, we played a much more intense game of skill for room selection in our junior year. We played war. I got the worst of the 3 rooms. Dammit.

4. Next, if you look at the bottom right hand corner of the picture (Not Jeff’s ass) you will see my awesome phone. I always got the free Verizon phones (You get a free phone every 2 years) and they never really treated me wrong. That Nokia phone (I forget the exact model number) didn’t really have anything at all. I had a choice of about 5 ringtones, all the connector cables for the PC didn’t work, and it had a maximum of only 100 contacts (wtf). However, the battery life was like a week, ridiculous. Oh, and the vibrating ring was like an earthquake.

5. I now have the best phone ever, the Motorola E815. I love that phone too. What can I say, I am easy to please.

6. Now, what exactly were we doing in this picture? Well, let’s see. Our group was creating a program for a class called Agent Based Simulation. The project was called sWARm, a battle simulation. It just so happened that running this program was very taxing on a computer as there were a lot of calculations being made. My computer also had a heat problem (as you can see the cover on the side it not attached). The last 3 times before we took this picture, the computer had overheated while running the program and froze up. We determined that the computer froze at a certain temperature and tried to figure out ways to keep it at that temperature. After many failed attempts, we had Jeff fan the computer with a towel while I monitored the temperature. Hence, the picture.

7. Next, as you can wee, I am wearing pajamas. This was my attire of choice during my freshman and sophomore years (probably later too). Why? Because it was comfortable.

8. If you look right behind Jeff, on the wall, you can see a calendar. This calendar has a goat on it. I have a friend who has an obsession with farm animals. He is a cool guy and all, but he has an obsession with farm animals, especially goats. He sent me the calendar. I didn’t have a calendar, so I put it up.

9. Finally, if you look very carefully at my desk, you will notice a little block-schedule chart. I am OCD about having my time organized and I make these little block charts in Excel to help me manage my time. I highly recommend it. Also, if you notice the top of the chart is all white. The chart started at 9am and was intentionally kept blank until 11am, even though I routinely had a 10am class. It’s just too early in the morning.
