I’ve Got My License
Saturday, February 24th, 2007Sometime when I was 16 or 17, I got my learner’s permit. I never really had an opportunity to learn how to drive due to school, work, and laziness. When I turned 21, my learner’s permit expired and when I went to get a new one, I had to take the written exam again (You know, the one where they show you a red octagon and ask you what the sign means)!
About 2 years later, I finally got my driver’s license. My road test lasted about 4 minutes, I messed some things up, yet they still gave me my license. While I am glad that I got my license, I am not sure how I feel about the ease with which I got my license. I guess this means I need to be even more careful on the road.
The freedom of having a license is nice, but I think life was much simpler back when I didn’t have my license. No worrying about the car getting stolen. No worrying about traffic/parking tickets. No worrying about locking the keys in the car or accidentally leaving it running. Oh well, I guess that’s life.
