I love investing. I have been investing in the public markets for over 23 years. My proudest trading accomplishment is that from 2008 to 2024, I operated a basic algorithmic strategy that has beaten the S&P500 by 80bps annually with 1/3rd less risk. I have also been an angel investor since 2013. I have evaluated thousands of private deals across venture capital, private equity, real estate, and other asset classes, and have written more than 70 checks over the last decade. I’ve performed the best investing in people and areas I know well and have experience with.
My joy from private investing comes primarily from helping talented entrepreneurs solve tough problems and build their companies through my advisory work and angel investing support. I provide funding to companies through two primary vehicles: The raAId Fund and my Personal Allocation.

My personal allocation fund is concentrated in industries where I have deep experience or expertise and people in whom I have developed deep trust. “Relationships are the most important thing” in many disciplines. IMHO, private investing is one of them.
